Stone received a total of 1233 votes; Holbrook, 1160; Treyz, 1128; and Lipton, 1052, according to unofficial results announced by the district Tuesday night.

The budget for 2013-14, set at $114,879,543, was approved in a vote of 1124 to 802. The budget represents a tax levy increase of 1.24 percent and is below the mandated state tax levy cap.

Stone is concerned with costs in the district and wants to promote a tracking program to measure the success of Katonah-Lewisboro graduates after they transition to college and/or the adult world.

Holbrook has made a point of cost reduction through prudent decisions, and has expressed concern over the dwindling enrollment, which drives up the cost of education per pupil. He says that more serious collaboration between unions and administrators is imperative.

Treyz was unavailable for comment.

Voters also approved Proposition #2 in an unofficial tally of 1122 to 791. The proposition calls for the purchase 12 new 78-passenger school buses at approximately $138,275 each and one wheelchair-accessible van at approximately $65,000.
