Since LES was closed last summer, the fate of the building has been scrutinized by a district committee, which Goetz is a member of.
The time and place for the meeting have not been determined, Goetz told Daily Voice.
The forum's purpose will be to hear from the public about what uses for the building they find acceptable and which ones they do not. Goetz acknowledged, however, that opinions may vary.
“You ask two people, you might get two different opinions,” he said.
LES, which is located in South Salem, is in a residential area.
Goetz anticipates that the tenant-search process will start later this month.
One potential tenant is the town of Lewisboro. Supervisor Peter Parsons, who has publicly expressed interest in using LES, is among the committee members exploring the building's future.
Goetz acknowledged that the school district and town have had discussions about using space at LES.
“We’ve been in preliminary talks for a while," he said.
More details will be sought for such an arrangement, Goetz explained, such as the amount of desired space.
The school board voted on Thursday to hire real-estate firm William Raveis, specifically its Katonah office, to act as the search firm for the leasing process.
During the meeting, Goetz mentioned a proposal, which has been floated by a local resident, to pursue state funding in connection with creating a business-incubator space at LES. The re-use committee did not make a decision on the proposal.
