CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- John Jay High School has launched a digital newspaper managed by student editors, writers and photographers.
“Several students were inspired to create an online presence for the student-run newspaper,” said school librarian Lauren Carrigan.
The John Jay Focus was launched after co-editors-in-chief Teagan Cronin and Alyssa Lofreddo and head layout editor Jessica Li attended a Columbia Scholastic Press Association conference at Columbia University in the fall.
"[Cronin, Li and Lofreddo] have worked very hard the last couple of months building the new site, rallying support and recruiting more writers, bloggers and photographers,” said Carrigan.
