By COREY HERSCH
UNIONDALE, N.Y. - The New York Islanders announced today that forward Mike Halmos emergency loan has been terminated and he has been returned to the Sound Tigers. Frans Nielsen has been activated off of injured reserve. Halmo, 22, now leads all active Sound Tigers in most offensive categories with 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 53 games this season. He also leads the team with a plus-13 rating. He appeared in two games with the Islanders since his recall on Feb. 24. The Islanders signed Halmo as a free agent on March 10, 2012, after the undrafted winger completed a four-year junior career with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League.
