- On May 3, an order for nearly $100 worth of take-out food was placed by telephone to the Cross River Subway but never picked up. Two days later, when a similar order was received the employee asked for a credit card and call-back number and the caller hung up.
- Sometime during the night of May 5 to 6, a cluster of four mailboxes on West Lane were destroyed.
- During the same night, an unlocked car on South Salem’s Oak Ridge Drive was entered and a house key and employee identification access card to John Jay MIddle School were taken. Police advised the victim to report the theft to the school.
- The same night on the same street, a garage door opener was taken from an unlocked car. The householder reported that the garage door was left half open, but nothing was taken.
- On May 8, a hang-up 911 call was placed from a pay phone near the auditorium of John Jay Middle School.
- Late afternoon on Saturday, 911 received a telephone call from a girl who reported she was being kidnapped on her way to the delicatessen. Further investigation by Lewisboro police disclosed that the call was a hoax, placed from a juvenile’s cellphone.
- Saturday evening, two mailboxes on Lambert Ridge Road in Cross River were damaged.
- The theft of the money in the Tip Cup at the Cross River Dunkin Donuts may or may not have been a prank, but it occurred twice and the thief was recorded on the in-store security camera. Police continue to investigate.
In other Lewisboro police news, a vehicle that failed to stop for a West Lane stop sign on May 6 was halted by police. Investigation showed the driver did not have a valid license. He was issued a summons for driving without a license and one for going through a stop sign. The car was impounded and the driver left with the tow truck.
