WLC Slates Fundraiser Show for Waccabuc Chapel

WACCABUC, N.Y. – The Waccabuc Landowners Council (WLC) is sponsoring a concert series, which kicks off this month, to help raise money for capital improvements for the Mead Memorial Chapel, one of Lewisboro’s most historic buildings.

The Mead Memorial Chapel Event Series began in 2005 to celebrate the centennial of the ground breaking for the building of the chapel, according to event organizers.

The first fundraising show for 2012 will be held Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chapel, located on Mead Street. It will feature the B.C.E. Ensemble, which is comprised of local vocalists Linda Broudy and David Eggers, who will be joined by Susan Broudy, Rob Carlson, Cole Smith, Art Siegel and Tony Cruz, along with the jazz pianist Chris Coogan, organizers said. Tickets are priced at $40 with all proceeds benefitting the Mead Chapel capital improvement fund.

Seating is limited to 90, so tickets should be reserved in advance; they will be held at the door. Checks can be made payable to the Waccabuc Landowners Council and mailed to: WLC, P.O. Box 311, Waccabuc, N.Y. 10597.

Organizers note that the chapel is not handicapped-accessible and does not have restrooms.

For further information, contact Linda Broudy or David Eggers at waccabucLC@gmail.com or call 914-763-5351 during the evening.
