VISTA, N.Y. The Vista Fire Department received four calls this past week, including a utility pole fire and several hospital transports. The fire log for the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4 follows:
The department received a received a request for the ambulance at a residence on East Street. At 9:05 a.m. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.
At 5:39 p.m., the department received a report of a transformer fire in the area of 145 Smithridge Road. When firefighters arrived, they found that the top of the pole was burning and we requested NYSEG to respond. There was nothing else the department could do so it cleared the scene.
The department received a report at 7:17 p.m. of a pole fire in the area of 145 Smithridge Road. The department arrived and verified that it was still the same incident and re-contacted NYSEG.
At 4:10 p.m., the department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Silver Springs Road. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Westchester paramedic on board.
