SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The haunting sound of a wolf howling may send a shiver down some folks’ spines, but it’s music to the ears of singer/songwriter Steve Jackson.
Jackson, the founder and front man for a Dallas-area band, Acoustic Distortion, is donating 50 percent from each purchase of his new CD, “Goodnight Moon,” to the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem.
The center, founded in 1999 by Helene Grimaud, is a private, nonprofit environmental education organization.
According to its website, its mission is to promote conservation by teaching about wolves, their relationship to the environment, and the role of humans in protecting their future.
The center has both onsite and offsite programs.
