Children's Librarian Cathy Lim and Head of Circulation Sue Hamilton will both be retiring at the end of December, the library announced.

Lim, fondly called "Ms.Cathy," by the children, has worked at the library for 20 years. Hamilton, who started as a part-time library clerk, has worked at the library for 38 years.

"Sue and Cathy have been a huge part of our friendly staff and, really, the bedrock of what we strive to do at the library," said Library Director Cindy Rubino. "They both offered such friendly faces to our patrons for years. We will miss them greatly."

To help send them off in style, the library is hosting an open house on Thursday, Dec. 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., so that people can stop by to bid them a fond farewell.

The open house will include refreshments and a fun "Ugly Sweater Cookie" decorating activity for children.

The library is located at 15 Main St., South Salem.  Call 914-875-9004 for information.
