Lewisboro Celebrates A Glorious Memorial Day

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Memorial Day swooped in on Lewisboro with glorious weather and two parades, plus a morning of races.

The parade at Goldens Bridge climaxed with the laying of wreaths at the Goldens Bridge Community House, followed by a musical interlude and the playing of Taps, as the American flag was slowly lowered. Refreshments were served afterwards through the courtesy of the Goldens Bridge Fire Department.

The second parade, in South Salem, ended with services at the Town House, music by the Mt. Kisco Scottish Pipes and Drums, speeches, the laying of wreaths by the Lewisboro Scouts and the playing of Taps.

Meanwhile, the South Salem Memorial Day Races started at 8 a.m. with the 10K race, won by male runner Tommy Delaney, with a time of 36:07, and female runner, Isabelle Page, with a time of 40:18.

Male winner of the 5K Race was Elon Nohilly with a time of 18:59 and the female winner was Florence Chretien, coming in at 20:10.

Male runner Charlie Conroy won the 10K/5K Challenge with a combined time of 59:14 and female Florence Chretien was right behind him with a combined time of 1:01:49.

Alexander Henrich came in first in the 1-Mile Kids Fun Run with a time of 6:36 and Kennedy Kreutzer, the female winner, had a time of 7:02.

As for the Pee Wee Race – everybody won.
