What's Happening In Lewisboro And Pound Ridge This Weekend

LEWISBORO, N.Y. - Music, comedy, nature – it’s all on our list of events taking place around Lewisboro and Pound Ridge this weekend. Check out the Wolf Conservation Center’s many programs, visit a farmers market, or take in Joy Behar’s show at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

Friday, Sept.14

Increase Miller Elementary Back-To-School Picnic : 5:30 p.m. The elementary school will hold its annual Back to School Picnic. 186 Waccabuc Road, Goldens Bridge.

Sleeping With Wolves: 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. The Wolf Conservation Center’s new nocturnal adventure experience gives visitors a chance to camp out overnight with the 25 wolves that call the center home. With all the howls and nature’s nighttime chatter, you’ll feel as if you’re camping under the stars with wild wolves. Cost is $275 per four-person tent. Singles are $150 but must bring their own tent. Admission includes a pizza party with the center’s ambassador wolves, an opportunity to behold critically endangered red and Mexican wolves, a movie under the stars, evening snacks and a light breakfast. Joy Behar at Ridgefield Playhouse: 8 p.m. Daytime Emmy Award-winner Joy Behar, of the ABC’s “The View,” will provide a night of funny stories and political satire at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Tickets are $80 and be purchase at the playhouse's website . 80 East Road, Ridgefield, Conn.

Saturday, Sept. 15

Gossett Brothers Farm Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Gossett Brothers Farm Market features fresh produce, meats and cheese, as well as seafood. The market is at 1202 Route 35, at Gossett Brothers Nursery in South Salem.

Evening Howl for All Ages: 6 - 7:30 p.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center for a special Evening Howl and visit the wolves during their favorite hour – dusk. Learn about the mythology, biology and ecology of wolves in North America and enjoy a sunset howl with the wolves. Cost is $16 for adults and $13 for children under 12. Sunday, Sept. 16

Sunset Photo Session: 4:30 to 6 p.m. Join the Wolf Conservation Center for a special opportunity to photograph the WCC’s ambassador wolves: Atka , Alawa and Zephyr in the warm glow of the sunset. Guests will also be given access to photograph the WCC critically endangered Mexican wolves and red wolves too from vantage points not generally available during regular visits . For ages 13 years old and up. Cost is $100 and pre-registration is required. Visit the center's website for more information. 7 Buck Run, South Salem.

Live Music at North Star: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dennis Collins and Mike DiMeo will perform at the North Star restaurant in Pound Ridge. Collins, who is accompanied on piano by DiMeo, has recorded with stars such as Roberta Flack, Sting, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Sheryl Crow and Faith Hill.
