Funds raised by the races are earmarked for the Forever Molly & Gregory Fund, established in partnership with the Katonah-Lewisboro Foundation in memory of Molly and Gregory Friedlander and their mother, Amy, Cross River residents who lost their lives in 2011.

“The Fund will support the pursuits closest to Amy, Molly and Gregory’s hearts in the areas of academic, athletic and artistic achievement,” said fund co-founder LIsa Cohen. Grants will be used to “support programs and/or purchase equipment, supplies and services that will enrich the lives of Molly’s and Gregory’s classmates and teammates,” she continued. “It is through this fund that Molly and Gregory will continue to spread their wondrous joy, kindness and compassion for others while making an everlasting impact on the lives of those who were touched by them.”

Among the awards presented after the 2012 races benefitting the Forever Fund were a donation to the John Jay Booster Club toward the high school’s new tennis courts, a new sundial at the Lewisboro Elementary School, the purchase of benches for the Lewisboro Soccer Club’s Onatru Farm field, the installation of two defibrillators for the Baseball Association at the Lewisboro Town Park, and smart-boards for the John Jay Middle School.
