I didn't 'slip' when describing our political system, as the full title of the book is Patriot Acts--What Americans Must Do to Save the Republic. As a former Republican judge in Texas and a fervent Independent today, I present ample criticism of both major parties for the myriad crises we face today (and have an entire chapter on education, including a discussion of the rocketing costs).
