Officials said that beginning on Friday night, commuters traveling on the Hudson Line will be affected as construction continues on the bridge. During the overnight operation, a sizable span of the old bridge’s steel span above the Metro-North tracks in Tarrytown will be removed by boat, prompting the service interruption.

During the operation, there will be no train service on the Hudson Line between Irvington and Tarrytown beginning at midnight on Friday and extending through Saturday morning. Buses will be provided for transport between the Yonkers and Tarrytown stations.

Commuters can expect an estimated additional 30 minute travel time between the two stations.

Metro-North officials said that on Friday, trains will only travel as far north as Irvington from the Yonkers station.

For customers traveling to the Tarrytown station and stations north to Poughkeepsie after 11 p.m., train service will be provided to the Yonkers station. At Yonkers, customers will then be able to transfer to an express bus to the Tarrytown station. Once at Tarrytown, customers will take a train to Poughkeepsie that will make all of its stops.

For southbound customers traveling to Yonkers and stations south to Grand Central Terminal, train service will be provided to Tarrytown station. At Tarrytown, customers will be able to transfer to an express bus to Yonkers Station for continuing train service to Grand Central.

Southbound customers traveling to Irvington, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Greystone and Glenwood will take the train to Tarrytown and transfer to bus service to Irvington where local train service will be provided.
