Winning $825K Lottery Ticket Sold At Naugatuck Big Y
Two Connecticut residents won separate $825,000 lottery prizes this week.
An unnamed person from Waterbury claimed a "200X 2nd Edition" prize from a ticket purchased in Fairfield County at a Mobil gas station in New Fairfield, CT Lottery announced on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The lottery said the gas station is located at 94 State Route 37.
A second winner, who is a resident of Naugatuck, claimed their "$1,000,000 Golden Riches" prize from a ticket purchased at Big Y World Class Market, located at 85 Bridge St. in Naugatuck, CT Lottery reported on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Monroe Woman Claims $100,000 Cash5 Lottery Prize
Connecticut Lottery announced the latest residents who claimed major prizes.
An unnamed New Haven County resident, from Naugatuck, claimed a $1,000,000 prize from a "Win up to $5,000 a month for life second edition" ticket purchased at Stop One Mart LLC, the lottery reported on Monday, Aug. 8.
CT Lottery said the store is at the Mobil gas station, located at 282 South Main St. in Naugatuck.
The lottery also announced that Fairfield County resident Gloria Rubis, of Monroe, claimed a $100,000 CASH5 prize from a ticket purchased at Big Y World Class Market, located at 83 Stony Hill Road …
Three Busted During Underage Alcohol Sting Op In Riverhead, Police Say
Three people have been charged with selling alcohol to minors during an investigation into stores on Long Island.
The sting effort, conducted by Riverhead Police and the Riverhead Community Awareness Program took place on Thursday, June 16, in an effort to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage children, the police department said.

The owner of a Connecticut convenience store and his father, who helped him operate the business, have admitted to a food stamps fraud offense.
Hartford County residents Javed Saeed, age 52, and 68-year-old Dastgir Saeed, both of South Windsor, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 10, to conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Javed is the owner of the Manchester Quick Mart and Mobil gas station, which is located at 262 Oakland St. in Manchester, the US Attorney's Office reported.

CT Convenience Store Owner, Worker Charged With Defrauding Government
The owner of a convenience store in the region and an employee at the store were charged with food stamp fraud offenses for allegedly allowing customers to redeem their food stamp benefits for cash and ineligible items.
Javed Saeed, age 52, and Dastgir Saeed, age 68, were arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 29, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Boyle said Javed is the owner of the Hartford County convenience store and Mobil gas station, called Manchester Quick Mart, and Dastgir helped operate the store.

A man who allegedly robbed a Westchester gas station at gunpoint before fleeing with cash has been apprehended, police announced.
The incident took place around 12:45 a.m., Thursday, May 7, at the Mobil gas station located at 381 Knollwood Road in Greenburgh, said Greenburgh Police Lt. Kobie Powell.
The suspect, identified as Mokosh Wilson, 21, of Yonkers, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register and safe, Powell said.

Police are searching for an armed man who has allegedly robbed three gas station/convenience stores at gunpoint in the area.
The robberies in Orange County began on Jan. 25, with the latest taking place around 1:17 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni.
