$150 Million Road Construction Project Begins In Woodbury WOODBURY, N.Y. – Construction on a $150 million road project aimed at mitigating traffic jams around Woodbury Common began on Wednesday, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The new, streamlined design for the new Road, Transit and Economic Development Hub includes improved access to businesses, new park-and-ride services, and enhanced pedestrian and public transit facilities. Video: New Windsor Cosmetics Factory Fire Ruled An Accident NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. –The explosions and subsequent fire at the Verla International cosmetics factory in New Windsor were an accident, according to Orange County officials. Newburgh House Cleaner Charged With Stealing Jewelry From Client's Home NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A Newburgh woman who works as a house cleaner stole more than $1,000 in jewelry from one of her clients, according to New York State Police. Debby I. Lowe, 46, allegedly stole the jewelry from a home in Hamptonburgh this summer then sold some of the items to an area pawn shop, officials said. Lowe was charged with grand larceny and will return to court on Dec. 27. Galleria Mall Shooter Identified, Pleads Not Guilty To Multiple Charges WALLKILL, N.Y. – Wallkill authorities identified the suspect who surrendered himself in connection with the shooting at the Galleria at Crystal run on Sunday, according to the Times Herald-Record. Michael Perez Rodriguez, 27, of Pennsylvania, turned himself in and was subsequently charged with reckless endangerment and two counts of misdemeanor assault. State Police Seize Drugs, Unstamped Cigarettes In Newburgh Traffic Stop NEWBURGH, N.Y. – State Police seized more than two pounds of an illegal stimulant as well as 40 cartons of unstamped cigarettes during a routine traffic stop in Newburgh on Tuesday, authorities said. Mansswr Saleh, 40, of Brooklyn was pulled over for a moving violation on Interstate 87 just before 9 p.m. A search found two pounds of KHAT as well as the unmarked cigarettes, troopers said. Saleh was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession or transport for sale of unmarked cigarettes, officials said. Saleh was taken to Orange County Jail without bail.

Suspects In Port Jervis Bank Robbery Tracked Down In Virginia Authorities tracked down a man and woman wanted in connection with the weekend bank robberies in Port Jervis and Monticello in Virginia, according to the Port Jervis Police Department. Erin Keppel, 32, robbed the Jeff Bank in Monticello on Nov. 18, as well as the TD Bank in Port Jervis on Friday before making off in a stolen car with Seven Steele, 32, authorities said. Kingston Man Will Serve Up To 10 Years For Fatal Newburgh Crash NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A Kingston man who admitted to being drunk when he crashed his truck in the Town of Newburgh last year was sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison on Monday, according to District Attorney David Hoovler. James Black, 29, was driving on Quaker Street last December just after 1:30 p.m. when he lost control of his truck and hit a tree. The collision killed his passenger.
