Arrive Early To Catch Bus Instead Of Train On Metro-North New Canaan Branch NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- This is the last weekend that Metro-North plans to run buses in place of trains along the New Canaan Branch as it ends a month of construction work.  As work continues on a train grade crossing, Metro-North Railroad is providing bus service between the New Canaan and Stamford stations for select trains on Fridays and for all trains on Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 23.
