Westchester Golf Pro To Compete For Major At PGA Championship

A golf professional from Westchester is taking his talents to North Carolina next week, where he will compete against some of the world’s best at the PGA Championship.

For the second time, 31-year-old Adam Rainaud, a golf pro at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck will tee it up against the likes of Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth when he challenges for a major championship the weekend of Aug. 10 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte.

As a PGA Assistant Professional, Rainaud is tasked with managing the entire facility in Mamaroneck, overseeing member programs and executing player development programs, among his professional duties as a golfer.

A former Division-I golfer at the University of Louisville, Rainaud became a pro at Winged Foot earlier this year. He earned his invitation to the PGA Championship by finishing in the top 20 at the PGA Professional Championship earlier this year, shooting a final round 73 to secure his spot.
