In the fall program, the focus was on skill training and clinics exclusively. The spring program will be a combination of practices and weekly games. Every girl who signs up for the spring program will be placed on a team.
John Jay Youth Softball is open to girls in pre-K through ninth grade in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. Practices are one to two days a week and will be at the Lewisboro Town fields/John Jay High School. Most games are played Saturdays with some weekday games (only "home" games are played during the weekdays). Home games are played on Lewisboro Town fields/John Jay High School. Away games will be played against Somers, North Salem and Brewster teams. John Jay Youth Softball believes strongly in player development, teaching proper techniques/mechanics/form, preparing the girls for playing at a higher level and, most importantly, having fun.
For the premier season, the registration fee is $95 and families are provided with multi-player discounts. Payment is required at the time of registration and includes a uniform.
For girls in pre-K through second grade, the Town of Lewisboro and John Jay Youth Softball operates a softball program, with more information to come.
Any parents interested in coaching, please contact Leah Pizer at lpizer@optonline.net. There will be a mandatory coaches meeting in the next few weeks. Pizer can be contacted for any questions.
