The village celebrated its state champions Sunday with a parade and proclamations. Pleasantville defeated Chenango Forks in Syracuse on Nov. 26 to capture the Class B title. The parade went from Bedford Avenue to Wheeler Avenue and ended at the front steps of the high school on Romer Avenue.

Monday was declared Pleasantville High School Football Day throughout Westchester and a sign was unveiled that reads "Welcome to Pleasantville Home of Pleasantville High Football Champions 2017," that will be displayed in the village.

Playing in its first-ever state championship game, Pleasantville defeated Chenango Forks of Binghamton 28-14 in the Class B title game at Syracuse University's Carrier Dome on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
