North Salem HS Alum Named SUNY Cortland 'Athlete Of The Week'

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- A former North Salem High School cross country star is continuing to do great things long after leaving the Tigers behind.

Allison Schumann, a senior a the State University of New York at Cortland, was named the school's Athlete of the Week on Oct. 9, according to a statement from the school.

According to Cortland, Schumann recently finished third out of 126 runners at the Hamilton Invitational, covering a 5,000-meter course in just over 19 minutes.

Schumann, who graduated North Salem High School in 2013, helped the Cortland Red Dragons finish second in the Invitational's final team standings, according to the school.

Schumann's performance also earned her the SUNYAC and ECAC North Women's Runner of the Week honors.
