LEWISBORO The Town of Lewisboros Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled several sport development clinics for this summer that focus on basketball and baseball.
The Junior Basketball Clinic is popular for children entering grades two through six. Participants will receive instruction on the basic skills of the sport, including dribbling, passing, shooting and rebounding. Skills will be developed and improved through drills and scrimmages. Emphasis is placed on teamwork and fair play.
The clinic for grades two and three will be held August 8-11, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon at the Town Park basketball courts. The clinic for grades four through six will be held August 15-18, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon, also at the Town Park courts. Cost is $125 for both clinics and all participants receive a T-shirt.
The town will also hold a Pitching Machine Baseball Clinic. This program is for boys and girls entering grades one to three and is designed to help those who want to play and learn about baseball and have fun without the pressure of winning and losing.
The first session will be held Aug. 8-11, Monday through Thursday, at the Town Park ball field, 1 to 4 p.m. A second session will be held Aug. 15-18, 1 to 4 p.m., also at the Town Park ball field. Cost for either session is $125 and includes a T-shirt.
Participants should bring cleats, a glove, a hat and drinks.
