The Lewisboro Parks and Recreation Department has slated several sports development clinics throughout the summer. An entry level track and field clinic kicks off the program and will be featured throughout the month of June.
The clinic will be run by Greg Govan, head track and field and cross country coach at Byram Hills High School. The clinic is designed to help develop the skills necessary for participating in the sport of track and field. The clinic will focus sprints and long-distant running, hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, high jump, javelin and relays.
The track and field clinic will be held at John Jay High School, Mondays through Thursdays, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The schedule is as follows:
- Boys and girls entering grades 3 and 4 in fall 2011 June 6-9
- Boys and girls entering grades 4 and 5 in fall 2011 June 13-16
- Boys and girls entering grades 5 and 6 in fall of 2011 June 20-23
- Boys and girls entering grades 6 through 8 in fall of 2011 June 27-30
The cost is $75 and registration is required. The fee includes a t-shirt. Registration forms are available at the Lewisboro Library.
