Lewisboro Offers Intro To Rugby Sessions

LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Parks and Recreation Department is offering Intro to Rugby the next two Saturdays, July 18 and 25, from 10 a.m. to noon at Fox Valley Upper Field in Goldens Bridge.

This introductory, noncontact program, for both boys and girls, will include instruction on the basic skills required to play the game of rugby, including passing, kicking and support play. There will also be a number of fun activities aimed at promoting the camaraderie of rugby and teamwork required to play the sport.

The program is for boys and girls ages 6-16. Participants will be divided into three groups: 6-9 years old; 10-13 and 14-16.

The classes will run over two weekends, and kids can attend either session or both. The program is open to all, so participants can encourage friends outside the town to come along.
