John Jay Third Grade Football Gets First Victory

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – The John Jay third-grade football team got its first victory of the season Sunday when it downed Wappingers Falls, 27-12, to improve its record to 1-3.

The Indians' offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage the entire game. Wingback Scott MacDonald scored on a 53-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and quarterback Jack Annicelli scored on an 18-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. 

The Indians took a 14-12 lead into the locker room at halftime, and then their defense held Wappingers Falls scoreless in the second half.

Scott MacDonald scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard run. The Indians ended the game on an interception that was returned for a touchdown by cornerback Tyler Wishart   

Next week John Jay will host Somers.
