LEWISBORO, N.Y. – John Jay High School quarterback Tyler Keech will appear on the debut of the new TV show, “Tristate Quarterback Showdown” on the MSG Varsity network, at 7:30 p.m. July 17.
MSG Varsity is Cablevision’s 24/7 network devoted to all things high school and can be found on Optimum TV channel 14.
The television special features the Top 24 high school quarterbacks from the New York metro area competing for the “Showdown Champion” title through various challenges and obstacles that test their speed, strength, accuracy. New York Giants' veterans Phil Simms and Amani Toomer serve as judges for the event and provide commentary throughout the show.
“It was an honor to be a judge at the first ever Tri-State Quarterback showdown,” Simms said. “I was really impressed by these student athletes and I enjoyed getting to talk to each of them and help them with their game. The tri-state has a great line-up of talent.”
Michael Larder, senior vice president and executive producer for MSG Varsity said the channel always is looking for new ways to showcase high school athletes.
“By creating the first-ever ‘Tri-State Quarterback Showdown’ and bringing in former NFL greats, we are providing another platform for these athletes to excel,” he said.
The show will re-air on the following days/times:
- 9:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. July 17.
- 12:30 p.m. July 20.
- 5 p.m. July 21.
- 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28.
