Hundreds Brave Heat July 4 To Run In Pound Ridge Race

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Close to 300 runners braved the oppressive heat and humidity Monday to participate in Pound Ridge’s 17th annual 5K road race.

They took off from the Pound Ridge Elementary School on Route 172, ran through the streets of the bucolic community and wound up at the Town Park on Route 137.

Coming in first overall was 24-year-old Christopher Sacks with a time of 15:37.

Second was Ian Mirtile, 21, with a time of 16:21.

Third was Sean Sacks, 18, in a time of 16:51.

First among the women runners to cross the finish line was Catherine Wolden Levine, 44, with a time of 18:54.

Next was Jen Saldutti, 39, with 22:19, and third was Kay Lovig, 35, with 22:32.
