LITCHFIELD, CONN. The Harvey girls lacrosse team battled through a first-half tie Wednesday to score six goals in the second half of a 9-5 victory against host The Forman School.
Tied 3-3 after the first two quarters, Audrey Rowe scored three goals and the Cavaliers responded in a second-half burst. Senior captain Nikki Pugliese and sophomore Abby Hassett each scored a goal in the first half and the second half to help lift Harvey to the win.
Harvey got off to a slow start as Formans Lady Lions scored two goals early. Harveys offense fired off a number of shots. Some missed wide and others were stopped by the Forman goalie. Rowe scored with seconds remaining to tie the game 3-3 at the half.
Eighth-grader Kiana Anderson, senior Izzy Gale and junior Julia Peraglia each assisted Rowe on a second-half goal and junior captain Leila Zuaiter scored the final goal to seal the victory.
