Reno, a sophomore at John Jay, committed to play at the University of Massachusetts last year. She is one of the earliest commitments for the class of 2017.

Reno will be joined by Matty and Emma Novick of New Canaan, Conn. The Novick girls, who are twins, have both committed to play lacrosse in college at Lafayette. Matty plays at New Canaan High School, and Emma plays at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich.

Reno plays with the Novick Girls on the CT Grizzlies, who are coached by Darien High School coach Lisa Griswold Lindley.

Reno was also a 2014 Brine All-American, representing the New England region in the Brine Lacrosse Classic.

"Playing for Israel Lacrosse is an opportunity to demonstrate my faith and commitment to Judaism, and show that Jewish athletes can compete with anyone,'' Reno said on the Israel Lacrosse website. "My great grandfather Mac Levy was a great track athlete and I hope to carry on the family's athletic tradition at World U19 Championship."

The 2015 FIL Women’s U-19 World Cup and International Festival of Lacrosse, will be played in Edinburgh, Scotland, from July 23-Aug. 1.

Israel’s roster is composed of both Israeli players, as well as members of the Jewish diaspora, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Federation of International Lacrosse.

The roster was selected after a series of tryouts at Voldenberg Field in Ashkelon, as well as formal evaluations held in conjunction with the Israel U-19 Winter Developmental Program.
