Astorino to Honor Three State Championship Teams

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino will honor the county’s three state champion basketball teams with a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to a press release from the county executive’s office.

The Mount Vernon Knights defeated Aquinas, 61-57, in the Class AA State Championship game. The Tuckahoe Tigers finished a perfect 25-0 season with a 77-66 win against Middle Early College in the Class C title game.

The Irvington Lady Bulldogs rolled through to the Class B state finals and won, 69-42, against South Jefferson. Irvington then rallied from a 14-point deficit to Long Island Lutheran to win the Federation title.

Astorino will honor these three teams with a ceremony at the Westchester County Center.
