Lewisboro Students Receive Accolades at College

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – Several students who call Lewisboro home have received honors and accolades from the colleges they attended this past spring.

Kelly L. Blair of South Salem, a senior childhood-education major, was named to the President's List for the spring semester at SUNY Oswego. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the President's List.

Shannon Keane of South Salem, a member of the Class of 2015 at Skidmore College, was selected for membership in the Periclean Honors Forum, which works to strengthen intellectual life at Skidmore and especially to encourage the academic aspirations of highly motivated and talented students. Formal membership in is based on academic accomplishment. She is the daughter of Devin and Patricia Keane.

SUNY Geneseo announced that seven Lewisboro residents have been named to its Dean's List for the spring semester 2012:

  • Emily Andrews, Goldens Bridge
  • Catherine Herman, Goldens Bridge
  • Megan Killea, Goldens Bridge
  • Raleigh Ramos, Goldens Bridge
  • Natalie Bladis, South Salem
  • Katherine Munz, South Salem
  • Donald McLoughlin Waccabuc

To be on the list, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.

Madeline Coleman of Waccabuc recently received a Whitman College Internship Grant in order to pursue a summer internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

This grant provides Whitman students with a stipend of $2,300 so that they have the opportunity to participate in an unpaid internship that will allow them to build important skills for the future and to give back to the community around them. Next year, Coleman will return to Whitman in Walla Walla, Wash. as a senior biophysics, biochemistry and molecular biology major.
