Kat-Lewisboro Schools Mark Homecoming Weekend

LEWISBORO, N.Y. – The Katonah-Lewisboro School District’s John Jay High School celebrated its homecoming last weekend with a number of athletic games and activities held on Friday and Saturday.

The weekend kicked off with a pep rally and commenced with a football game featuring a halftime parade.

The football game, held Saturday night, was a highlight of the weekend, with John Jay playing against Lakeland High School and winning, 42-13. The stands were packed with community members who came out to cheer on the team.

John Jay High School freshman Julianne Schelle sang the national anthem prior to kickoff, and the school Dance Team performed after the first quarter.

The halftime show featured a parade of floats, with each class representing itself through a selected theme. The freshman class chose the Disney Channel, the sophomore class selected ESPN, the junior class featured an MTV theme, and the senior class displayed a Nickelodeon float. Attendees also enjoyed musical entertainment and raffles.

Other games and sporting events held over the weekend included JV Volleyball vs. Arlington, Varsity Field Hockey vs. Horace Greeley, JV Field Hockey vs. Horace Greeley, Varsity Volleyball vs. Haldane, Varsity Men’s Soccer vs. RC Ketchum, JV Men’s Soccer vs. Lakeland, JV Women’s Soccer vs. Horace Greeley, Varsity Women’s Soccer vs. Horace Greeley, Varsity Women’s Tennis vs. Fox Lane, Varsity Women’s Swim & Dive vs. Poughkeepsie, and Varsity Men’s and Women’s 16th Annual Fred Gressler Memorial Cross Country Run.
