CROSS RIVER N.Y. – John Jay High School’s Parent Teacher Organization will have its annual Antique Stocking Stuffers Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the high school in Cross River.

Vivian Cord, of the Armonk-based Cord Shows Ltd., which is operating the show, said the event is not your typical PTO holiday fundraiser.

“Dealers will come from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Virginia,” she said. “They put things aside all year in anticipation of this event with its unique guidelines. Dealers call on their creativity, selling only from tabletops.”

The merchandise that will be sold runs the gamut from high-end to highly collectible. Items are limited to antique, estate and vintage costume jewelry and a general line of antiques and collectibles that are no larger than 6-by-6 inches, thus able to fit into Christmas stockings. The only size exceptions are for antique and estate sterling, silver-plate and silver overlay and fashion accessories and textiles.

Examples of what can be found include clocks, autographs, silver serving pieces, candlesticks, smoking accessories, barware, art glass, demitasse cups and saucers, figural bells, coins and tokens, toys, Christmas ornaments, china, Americana and folk art.

The show also will feature sewing accessories and sundries, perfume bottles, Bakelite and celluloid, keys, beadwork, Belleek porcelain, Native American pottery, Stiegel glass, art pottery, Chanel, Hermes, Gucci jewelry, Native American jewelry, vintage scarves, tins, and Royal Doulton.

There also will be a student-run bake sale and a specialty food vendor offering products “fresh from Vermont.”

The $7 cost of admission benefits the John Jay High School PTO (12 and under are free).
