CROSS RIVER, N.Y. John Jay Middle School Principal Richard Leprine has announced the schools Halloween guidelines for student dress on Oct. 31.
Students are permitted to wear costumes to school on Halloween. However, no masks of any kind are permitted in school. In addition, no props of any kind should be brought to school. Masks or props will be taken from students and won't be returned until parents can make an appointment and pick them up the following week, Leprine said.
Leprine said costumes must be school-appropriate. Students may not wear anything suggestive in nature or anything related to drug or alcohol use. Anything with a violent theme will also not be allowed.
