Dover Quartet Visits Cross River's John Jay Middle School

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- The Dover Quartet, winner of the Grand Prize at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition, made a special visit to Cross River's John Jay Middle School to perform and do a question and answer session.

Orchestra teacher Jacquelyn Curtis arranged for the visit through the Caramoor Student Strings program. Each year, Caramoor hosts a “quartet in residence” that travels to area schools to have a “Concert and Conversation.”

The guest musicians met at the Curtis Institute of Music, have travelled extensively, and are currently enjoying a one year residency at Caramoor.

The quartet comprises of Joel Link and Bryan Lee on violins, Camden Shaw on cello and Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt plays viola.

They chose to play Samuel Barber’s Opus 11 in B minor and the second movement of Beethoven’s Opus 135 in F major.
