Westchester Sees Rise In Co-Op, Multi-Family Home Sales

Co-ops and multi-family home sales are on the rise, while single-family home sales are on the decline in Westchester over the past year, according to a second-quarter report from Westchester Real Estate Inc.

Overall sales increased 1.26 percent from the second quarter last year. The increase in co-ops and muti-family home sales helped offset a 10.9 percent decrease in single-family homes and 5.6 percent decrease in condo sales. 

The price of a median single-family home increased three percent from last year, while inventory decreased 15 percent.

In Bedford, there were 77 homes sold in the quarter versus 68 in last year's quarter. There are 214 active listings in Bedford.

In Briarcliff, there were 18 homes sold in the quarter versus 27 in last year's quarter. There are 41 active listings in Briarcliff.

In New Rochelle, there were 101 homes sold in the quarter versus 95 in last year's quarter. There are 154 active listings in New Rochelle.

In Scarsdale, there were 62 homes sold in the quarter versus 51 in last year's quarter. There are 158 active listings in Scarsdale.
