A man entered Valley National Bank at 4405 Bergenline Ave. around 11 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash, according to police. He left with about $10,000.

Union City police from the patrol division and the detective bureau responded, obtaining still photos of the suspected getaway vehicle's license plate and a photo of the suspect. Using an intelligence database maintained by the Hoboken Police Department, the suspect was identified within an hour of the robbery.

Further investigation revealed that two other men were also involved in the robbery, police said. William Tedeschi, 48, who police said gave the teller the note, was arrested, as were two alleged accomplices, Farouk Lazizi, 34, and 19-year-old Juan Rojas-Hernandez. They were charged with robbery and conspiracy and were being held at the Hudson County jail.

"The coordination and joint effort from the Detective Bureau and the Patrol Division resulted in a quick investigation and the arrest of these individuals," said Chief Nichelle Luster, “I applaud the efforts of our police officers who worked tirelessly to see that the suspects were identified and taken into custody."
