Nyack Woman Assaults Man, Attempts To Flee With His Car, Police Say

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A Nyack woman was picked up by police on a variety of charges after she was accused of breaking into a Pearl River home and attacking a man inside.

Marissa Castie of Nyack was arrested by the Orangetown police after she was accused of breaking into a home in Pearl River, attacking a man inside and stealing his car.

Marissa L. Castie, 36, entered the home Thursday, attacked the man inside, causing cuts on his face and hands, stole his vehicle and attempted to flee the area, according to the Orangetown Police Department.

When stopped by Orangetown police a short time later, Castie was found with a white rock substance alleged to be crack cocaine, police said.

Casie is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $5,000 bail. She was due to appear in court on Monday.
