A sketch (ABOVE) was produced after investigators interviewed a 10-year-old girl who told them that she was approached at Inwood Terrace Park around 6 o’clock Monday night.

A dark-colored sedan pulled up, she said, and a man lowered the passenger window and asked if she’d get in and help him look for his lost dog.

She said she ran away. The car apparently kept going.

She described the man as tanned, in his 30s or 40s, with dark hair and brown eyes, a bit of stubble and a mole on the left side of his forehead. She said he was wearing a black, V-neck shirt.

Earlier on Friday, police rushed to the McDonalds on Lemoine Avenue, between Fort Lee High School and the George Washington Bridge.

As it turned out, a man there made a comment about a 10th grader who was supposed to be in school.

It was reported to police but turned out to be “a non-story,” a department member told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Rumors ran rampant throughout the day, with some in town saying there’d been a molesting and others an attempted abduction.

None of that happened, however.

“We investigated it thoroughly,” the officer told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “It ended up being something completely different from what people said it was.”
