Vincent Ralph Palomba Sr., 92, Former Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Vincent Ralph Palomba Sr. -- a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1965 and formerly of Poughkeepsie and Manhattan -- died Saturday, Jan. 2. He was 92.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Palomba was a supervisor for Canteen Vending for 37 years, until his retired in 1987. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Holy Rosary Bowling League, among others.

He is survived by his son, Vincent R. Palomba Jr. of Hopewell Junction; grandchildren Vincenzo Xavier, Luba and Marianna Palomba of Hopewell Junction; brother Mauro Palomba of Hopewell Junction; sister Grace Elicona of Garfield, New Jersey; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Palomba was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Antoinette “Toni” Toepler and his parents, Mauro and Margaret Franciosa Palomba.

A Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park with military honors.
