DUMONT, N.J. — Emerito G. Garcia, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Garcia was the devoted father of Emerito Jr. and his wife Bernadette; Giovanni; and Benitha Mintz and her husband Daniel; cherished grandfather of E.J., Joey, Michael, Mark and Ashley, and great-grandfather of Thomas and Lily; dear brother of Genie Aduincula; Violeta Achacoso; Vener Rios; and Reynaldo Garcia. He also is survived by his son-in-law Ernesto Santos.
Garcia was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucia Ilao, and daughter, Immaculada Santos.
Garcia was born in Manila, Philippines to the late Casimiro and Benita Garcia, and was employed as an accountant at Amalgamated Insurance in New York City, retiring in 1980.
There will be a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.
