Man Charged With DWI In Carmel

CARMEL, N.Y. – Authorities have charged a Brooklyn man with driving while intoxicated in Carmel, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped Anthony Amatulle, 30, for a traffic violation on Route 52 at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Upon further investigation, the deputy determined that Amatulle was intoxicated, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Amatulle was then arrested for a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

If convicted, Amatulle could spend up to a year behind bars and pay a fine of up to $1,000.
