Rye Woman Says Sheldon Silver Paid Her Hush Money Over Sex Abuse Allegation

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye resident Charmain Neary said former State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver gave her $85,000 in hush money to cover up sexual abuse allegations, according to ABC News Albany.

Neary said Silver gave her the money in 1995 to get her to stop pushing for an investigation into former assemblyman Mark Alan Siegel, ABC News Albany said. 

Silver's motive behind covering up hers, and other nefarious claims against Albany politicians was to garner more power and retain his position as speaker, Neary went on to say in the ABC News Albany reported.
