Before working as Deputy Tax Receiver in Lewisboro, Casper had a lengthy career at Reader’s Digest, starting as a college intern in the Public Relations Department and rising to the post of Director of Reporting and Research, where she managed a staff of over 30 employees, with an annual budget in excess of $1 million.

“Both her former position and her later position [as Deputy in Lewisboro’s Tax Office] are those where accuracy is at a premium,” said GOP Chair, Andrea Rendo.

Casper is currently a member of Lewisboro’s Committee for the Disabled and has been active in town-run sports and recreation programs, as well as local Scouting programs. She has volunteered with the global relief agency, AmeriCares and worked selflessly during Hurricane Sandy at the town’s Emergency Management Operations Center.

Casper said her Tax Office boss, Joann Vasi, has a system in place that is meticulous, with many cross checks and carefully managed ledgers. She adds that she feels confident that her background at the Digest has provided her with the skill to integrate new equipment and software when the town budget eventually allows for it.

“I intend to ensure that the tax office remains a welcoming place, where accuracy is paramount, while at the same time offering options to the Town Board that they agree are innovative and cost-effective in the long run.”
