Vista Fire Dept. Responds To Vehicle Gas Leak

VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department responded to three calls last week, including a gasoline leak from a vehicle.

On Oct. 17, at 11:03 a.m., the department received a report of a hazardous situation on Smith Ridge Road at the intersection of Spring Hill Lane. First responders arrived to find a vehicle with a gasoline leak when the engine was running. The department waited for a tow truck and had the vehicle removed from the scene. There was little gas on the ground that needed to be cleaned up.

Other calls in the fire log for the week of Oct. 15-21 include:

On Oct. 15, at 4:54 a.m., the department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Fox Run Road. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital.

Also on Oct. 15, the department received a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a residence on Smith Ridge Road at 6:33 a.m. It was determined to have been set off by cooking.
