Vista Fire Department Responds to Three Calls

VISTA, N.Y. – It was a slow week for the Vista Fire Department, which responded to just three calls – two of them automatic fire alarm activations that proved to be false alarms.

The fire log for the week of Dec. 10-16 follows:

Friday, Dec. 14

At 6:07 p.m., the department received a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a residence on Shady Lane. First responders arrived to find it was smoke from cooking. The residence was vented by opening windows.

Sunday, Dec. 16

At 1 p.m., the department received a report of an automatic alarm activation at a residence on West Lane. The department arrived to find that the owner was testing his system.

The department received a report of a branch on the wires at the intersection of East Street and Lockwood Road at 8:31 p.m. NYSEG was notified and its crews responded.
