Vista Fire Department Responds To Five Calls

VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department responded to five calls last week, including a mutual aid request and two automatic fire alarm activations. The fire log for the week of July 24-30 follows:

Wednesday, July 25

• At 1:30 a.m., the department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Lakeside Drive. The patient was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital. 

• The department received a mutual aid request from South Salem Fire Department at 12:53 p.m. for a possible fire at a business on North Salem Road. The request was canceled while the department was responding.

Friday, July 27

• The department received a mutual aid request from South Salem Fire Department at 1:18 a.m. for a possible fire at a residence on East Ridge Road. The department arrived to find the fire extinguished.

Saturday, July 28

• At 1:50 p.m., the department received a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a business on Oakridge Drive. It was determined to be a problem with one of the smoke detectors, and the alarm company was notified to respond and repair the problem.

Monday, July 30

• At 7:11 a.m., the department received a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a residence on Elmwood Road. It was determined to be a problem with the alarm system.
