VISTA, N.Y. – The Vista Fire Department responded to five calls last week, including three ambulance requests and a report of burning utility wires.

The fire log for the week of Oct. 1-7 follows:

Tuesday, Oct 2

At 2:50 p.m., the department received a report of wires burning in a tree on Conant Valley Road. The company arrived and notified NYSEG.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

The department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on West Lane at 11:19 a.m. The patient was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital.

Friday, Oct. 5

The department received a report of an automatic fire alarm activation at a residence on Upland Court at 1:36 p.m. It was determined to have been set off by cooking.

At 4:28 p.m., the department received a request for the ambulance at a residence on Audubon Road. The patient was transported to Norwalk Hospital with the Norwalk Hospital Paramedic on board.

At 6:20 p.m., the department received a report of an odor of gas at a residence on Silvermine Drive. It was discovered one of the burners was left on in error. Responders made sure the residence was cleared out prior to leaving.
