Two Sons Injured Trying To Save Elderly Mother From Ridgefield Condo Fire

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Two men suffered burns trying to save their elderly mother from a fire in her condominium in Ridgefield on Thursday evening, the fire department told NBC Connecticut.

The woman, in her 70s, was trapped on the top floor of her two-story condo at 15 Cook Close in the Casagmo condominium complex, firefighters told NBC Connecticut. Her sons suffered burns trying to rescue her before firefighters arrived, the report said.

The mother's injuries appeared to be serious, First Selectman Rudy Marconi told NBC Connecticut. 

All three were taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment, the fire department told NBC Connecticut.
