South Salem Man Reports Black Bear Sighting

LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- A South Salem man reported seeing a large black bear in his backyard on Wednesday, according to Lewisboro Police.

The resident, who lives off of Smith Ridge Road in the eastern side of town, said the bear was three and a half feet to its shoulder, police said.

The bear was gone by the time police arrived to the property.
